Caltech Y (505 S. Wilson)
The Caltech Y is seeking volunteers to support a campus tour and hands-on science demos for a group of 5th graders from Suva Elementary School. Volunteers are needed in the following roles:
Campus Tour Leaders (9:30–10:30 AM): Lead small groups of ~10 students through a scavenger hunt-style campus tour
Science Demo Facilitators (10:30–11:30 AM): Guide students through hands-on science activities (you’re welcome to bring your own idea or lead a pre-planned demo)
Suva Elementary, located in Bell Gardens, serves a predominantly Latinx student population, with approximately 80% of students receiving free or reduced lunch. This is a wonderful opportunity to help young students experience a college campus and gain early exposure to STEM and higher education.
